M3 ADU Interior Finish

Project Overview

This 300 sq. ft. studio ADU in Berkeley is one of the projects I’m most proud of. Finished almost entirely in teak, the space features custom wall paneling, cabinetry, millwork, glass entry doors, and detailed finish carpentry throughout.

I joined the project after framing and MEP rough-in were complete and led a small crew through the entire finish phase. My responsibilities included insulation and framing of shear walls and fire-rated walls, preparing the project for inspection, closing in the structure with teak paneling, installing doors and windows, and completing the interior millwork and cabinetry.

The bathroom included a custom 3-piece marble shower surround, which I measured, cut, and installed, along with the surrounding finish work and hardware.

The project was brought through final inspection, with all utilities tested and verified before completion. After completing the client’s final punch list, touch-ups, and site cleanup, the ADU was fully completed and handed over in July 2026, delivering a finished kitchenette, full bathroom, and integrated laundry space within the compact studio layout.

Completed as part of a Masaya Homes build.
